Cardiac emergencies demand swift and informed action. Recognising and assessing a cardiac emergency, promptly calling for medical assistance, and performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) are vital steps that can significantly increase the chances of survival for an individual who is unconscious and not breathing normally.
Our CPR course is designed to equip you with the skills required to effectively respond to cardiac emergencies. Aligned with the guidelines of the Australian Resuscitation Council, our course covers various aspects of CPR, including:
- Utilising an automated external Defibrillator (AED)
- Knowing when and how to seek additional help
- Improving your personal skills and response times for enhanced effectiveness
- Implementing methods to rotate first aiders with minimal interruptions to compressions
In our CPR training program, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of vital skills. This includes becoming proficient in the effective use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), ensuring a seamless rotation of first aiders to minimise disruptions during chest compressions, and learning how to respond if the casualty experiences regurgitation or vomiting.
Furthermore, our course goes beyond the basics. We emphasise the importance of accurately communicating incident details when transferring the casualty to emergency services. You’ll also learn when and how to seek additional assistance if the situation requires it. Our goal is to help you continuously enhance your personal skills and response times, ensuring you are well-prepared for any emergency scenario.

Course Details
Units Delivered: HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Entry Requirements:
Participants must have the physical capacity to perform practical demonstrations, such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor.
Pre-course study: Students are required to undertake online pre-course work prior to attending the face-to-face session depending on the course delivery mode.
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.
Certificates will require renewal after 12 months.
Performance tasks and practical scenarios:
- Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED)
- Perform CPR on an infant
This course is delivered and assessed on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909
What you need to bring:
- Wear comfortable clothing
- Form of identification (Drivers License, Passport, Photo I.D. Card, Student card).
Assessment Activities
- Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED)
- Perform CPR on an infant
- A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.

All booking cancellations or re-scheduling requests will incur a $40.00 fee. For cancellations or re-scheduling with less than 48 hours’ notice, the full course fee may be charged, including no-shows. In the event of an inadvertent booking mistake, we offer rescheduling or refund options as applicable.
